Description

Rabbi Bruno Pellegrino Polacco (פולאקו, גרשם בן אברהם) was born in Cesenatico, a port town with about 26,000 inhabitants on the Adriatic coast of Italy, on 23-12.1917. Polacco got the "maskil" title from Collegio Rabbinico Italiano in Roma in 1939, and "semikhah" of "chakham" in 1963. He served as Vice-Rabbi in Venice, then as Rabbi in Ferrara, from 1953 to 1960, and finally in Livorno from 1963 to 1967. He passed away in Livorno on 09.05.1967. He was the main informer of Leo Levi's survey of the Sephardic rite in Venice.
