Notes on text

This item is a piyut, attributed to Eleazar Kallir (VI century), which starts with the verses "lekha hashem hatzedaqah...", etc. (a quotation from sefer Daniel) which precede the text here recorded. These first verses, in the Venetian ritual as performed by Umberto Forti, have been attached to the previous piyut sung in the selichot service, Ben Adam (see here).
