Notes on recording
In the Tripolitanian rite, the cantor sings aloud the central part of shabbat ‘arvit ‘amidah. This was the practice in Libya, in order to allow those who - for various reasons - couldn't recite the whole ‘amidah to follow the prayer thus fulfilling their duty (informant: Vicky Mantin).
