Ezechia Mestre grew up and lived in Genova, in a local Jewish family with ties also to Piedmont. He was a very well known figure not only in the Jewish Community but also in town, active as hazan in the Genova synagogue after the WWII until the last part of the century, considered by his contemporaries as a repository of the Genova minhag (EF).
