Notes on music

This version of Adon 'Olam is described in Levi's Catalogo Sommario as "Introduzione al Lecha Dodi per ogni venerdì sera; inno e motivo tradizionale liturgico proprio del rito anconetano / italiano". The melody is evidently a close variant of the melody remembered by contemporary informants for "Le'El Olam", a poem by Mordechai Dato for Qabbalat Shabbat (see corresponding page in the Thesaurus).
