Significantly, the melody is basically the same as the one recorded for "Adon Olam" by R. Elia in Leo Levi's recordings for the Ancona ritual (see link below).

The poem, composed by Mordechai Dato, was much in use in Italian communities in the XVIII century, judging from its appearance in various siddurim.
