Notes on text

the present recording includes the reading of verse 33:19 of Shemot, which is used in Venice as in some other Sephardic communities to introduce the well known poem "rachamana" (O merciful one), known also by the words of the response usually sung by the congregation "be-dil wa-ya'avor" (for the merit of "wa-ya'avor"; then the poem itself, with its variants for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur eves.
