Informant biographical notes
Cesare Yizkiyahu Eliyahu Ventura (Firenze 11/12/1913, Tel Aviv 5/3/1995). He attended the Florence Jewish school, was exposed since early youth to the local minhag and was director of the boy's choir after the war, until his aliyah in 1959. Born in the same year as Fernando Belgrado, he probably learned the repertorie from the same sources. He was close friends with Umberto Genazzani, 15 years his senior, both in their florentine years and later in Israel.
