Lekhah Dodi map of items
The poem Lekhah Dodi, by Shlomo Alkabetz (Salonika 1500- Safed 1580) found its way rapidly in Italian rituals, and can be found in Italian tiqqunei Shabbat prayer books since the first half of the XVII century, together with other poems for Qabbalat Shabbat which remained popular for more than a century. Many different melodies for Lekhah Dodi are present in the various repertoires here in the Thesaurus.
